Why People Trust Jennifer Poulson Before They Meet Her

Look, if we ran into Jennifer Poulson on the streets of St. George, Utah — totally unacquainted — we would want to be her best friend within minutes. She’s kind, driven, and so completely herself, you can’t help but like her.

But people don’t decide to trust Jen when they meet her. By then, they already trust her. Before she smiles or says a word, they want to hire her as their real estate agent.

How did she do that?

By showing up for her community and building lasting relationships.

Jennifer no longer has to chase cold leads or fight for her next listing appointment. People come to her because she’s nailed her marketing approach. Her posts feel like conversations with a neighbor, and her clients (both current and future) love her for it.

If this sounds too good to be true, we get it. When you’re grinding day after day to keep your real estate business running, stories like this feel unrealistic, at best.

But we see similar results all the time. Our clients aren’t churning out rote ads just to earn six likes and a spam comment.

They’re making real, genuine connections with people who a) love their communities as much as they do and b) could use their services. Our clients’ listing videos are racking up tens of thousands of views while strangers comment, “I love your posts!!!” on their latest restaurant recommendations.

Around here, we’re all about helping realtors stand out, build relationships, and double their GCI.

And that’s how Jennifer wound up at a listing appointment where she didn’t need to sell herself or her services.

Her consistent presence on Facebook — where she posts about everything from her favorite parks to the amazing first responders of St. George — enables people to get to know her before they meet her IRL. They know exactly what to expect from her because her ads don’t read like ads.

They read like they were written by a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who just *happens* to be a real estate agent. (And a darn good one, at that.)

Jennifer soon realized that she no longer had to prove herself during listing appointments. People feel like they already know her, so she responds accordingly (with a great deal of humility, we might add).

Well, we hear you thinking, maybe St. George is just an “easy market.” The Platform strategy probably won’t work for me.

Here’s what Jennifer has to say about that:

“[St. George is] a small town with a big market, and everyone wants in. But what people don’t realize is that just having a license isn’t enough here. You have to hustle, show up, and actually care… I don’t just list a house—I’ll help stage it, paint a wall, whatever it takes. You have to go the extra mile if you want people to remember you.”

In other words, Jen has worked incredibly hard to grow her business. She moved from Las Vegas to St. George in 2017 and transitioned into full-time real estate in 2020 (yes, during the pandemic! Can you say “gutsy?”).

That means Jennifer was a newcomer in a community where “everyone knows everyone.”

(If you live in a small town, you will understand the gravity of this.)

To truly integrate into St. George life and start landing listings, she couldn’t just dump a bunch of direct mail postcards into people’s boxes and hope for the best.

She had to put her community first. She had to host open houses on busy roads and talk to people.

By 2021 — just a year after going full-time — Jennifer’s GCI hit $350k, fueled by face-to-face engagement and referrals. This happened entirely because her past clients love her so much, not because she has a fancy referral program.

(One client even told her, “I’d send my grandma to you.” That is the *highest* praise.)

So, the real question is: Why did Jennifer decide to join Platform Marketing in 2022 if her marketing was already working for her?

Well, she didn’t join for leads. Rather, her goal was to deepen her branding and take her business to the next level — and that’s exactly what she did.

Through Platform, Jennifer has only amplified her authenticity, creating a community where even more people feel like they know her before they contact her. In Jen’s words:

“Platform not only helps me consistently stand out, but they take it to the next level and help me do so in a way that is authentically me.”

Yes, it’s 2025, and AI is automating everything from low-level legal tasks to grocery lists. But nothing can replace the power of showing up for people, building trust, and going above and beyond. (Did we mention that Jen has staged homes using her own furniture?!)

So, if you want your community to know and trust you the way St. George does Jen, maybe it’s time to see if your market is still available. We’d love to help.

"What does Platform do?"
